ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND EARLY CHILD DEVELOPMENT:  FINDINGS FROM RECENT RESEARCH ON NEURODEVELOPMENT AND AUTISM

Presentation by UC Davis Research Staff from EARLI

Exposures from daily living range from air pollution to chemicals in plastics and cosmetics, to pesticides and flame retardants in our textiles. This presentation will cover findings from recent research on neurodevelopment and autism, with a focus on research at UC Davis, including the CHARGE, MARBLES, and EARLI studies. It will also address several of the major issues in the field. Are the rates of autism still rising? Is it all better diagnosis? What do we know about causes? Does it start during gestation?
